Today is the first day of my new blogging site! I had one a long time ago before life happened and I went back to school. I recently graduated from college with my Bachelor of IT degree with a concentration in computer forensics. Do I have a job in that field? No. And the way they hire, I will be needing more certifications to even qualify for a job. I put my resume out on Careers.com and continue to get offers but I have found a job with Xerox at their Verizon Wireless call center. Is this my perfect job? no but it is a job and in today's economy, having a job is a big step forward! There are a lot of people out there looking for work and I, fortunately, found one the first week after finishing classes. My job is one that has a lot of potential for upwards mobility which is one of the reasons I hope I am retained after my 90 days of training is up! After a year, they offer tuition reimbursement and I will be going for more certifications in IT so that I can get a better position at Xerox in the future.
What does this have to do with quilting? Absolutely nothing. But in order to quilt, create and purchase more items to feed my creative monster, I must make money! I love computers and I love fabrics! If I could find a way to make money combining both of them together, then I would love it! Any suggestions?
